What is a Sibe-Bord?
It is a fifty fifty mix of Siberian Husky and Border Collie.

What colours do Sibe-Bords come in?
Any, so far we have had Black & White, Dk Grey & White, Brown & White, Gold & White, Tri colour and something in-between.

What is their temperament like?
They are an active dog that generally has a good nature towards Adults, children and other dogs. But they can also still have the tendency to be predatory. (Another words they need to know the cat was there first, and the chickens are not to be eaten, nor the sheep for that matter.)

They need training other wise they will train themselves and most of the time it is to do something you do not want them to do.

They are real characters that are very clever and can work things out quickly, but at no time should they be aggressive towards people. They are not guard dogs, unless trained to guard, but this is a lot of hard work, as most do not guard naturally.

What sort of coat do they have?
They come in a short, medium, long and woolly coat.

They are very healthy dogs, that do not cost a lot to feed, but they do need regular exercise for their minds as well as their physical well-being.

History about the line of Sibe-Bord, being bred at the Karuz kennels and two others within NZ
Graham Hawkyard had a very good Siberian Husky bitch called Hikon Havoc. She was one of the countries best obedience dogs gaining obedience grand champion status with over 100 challenges to her name. In 1990 Graham decided to mate Havoc to a Border collie also of good working lines. This litter produced two living pups Kaos and Cruz. Both of which went on to become Obedience Grand Champions, Cruz owned by Karen Sadler and Kaos stayed with Graham.

This Hooked Karen into Sibe-Bords as Cruz not only did obedience but also agility and made a number of TV commercials and acted in a number of drama series.

Cruz was also the start of Agrade Animals Action Ltd, and the kennel name KARUZ. Which is a combination of Karen & Cruz's names.

At this stage Karen Sadler had a hand in the mating of a Havoc son (full Siberian husky) to a border collie of again very good working lines. This litter resulted in Karen gaining ownership of the kennels foundation sire Pointons Agrade Possum.

Possum also went on to become an obedience grand champion, winning 5 national titles in obedience, 4 at the national dog training assembly, which is a very hard title to win. He also gained his ADX "agility dog excellence title". Making a number of TV productions through his life, at 10 years old still being able to out work many of the younger dogs but sadly Possum past away in April 2006.

Karen instigated the litters that were bred under the kennel name "Agrade" with Graham, before going out on her own with the new kennel name "Karuz"

Today you can see many of Possum's progeny working in obedience, agility and sled racing or on the TV screen.
